I am problay going to get a hair cut so I can make my hair kinda sceneish?

My hair is thin, not too thin but thin, and when I tease it and hair spray it, it doesent stick up well and it gets all messy looking when I want it to look nice but just big. I think I DO need a choppier hair cut so the layers are shorter so they can stand up better, would that be the case? Does anyone have any tips at all? Yes do get a haircut! Get shorter and choppy layers at the top but not TOO short or else they'll look silly and stand up like a sea urchin, and not in a good way...

If your hair is long, here's what you should do. Get some really dramatic layers... have it about cheek bone length at shortest and jaw bone length at longest at the top and all in the middle in between. Then, just leaves your hair the way it is at the bottom, keeping it as straight as possible.
