What is the difference in a 'hair cut' and a 'cut and style'?

Many salons have both of these prices on their pricing lists and I have always wondered. What is the difference in a 'hair cut' and a 'cut and style'?
A cut is simply where the hair is cut.

A cut and style is where they use tools and products to shape the hair in a certain way pertaining to the cut. The styling is what you can do to the cut hair, but how the cut hair is by itself. What is the difference in a 'hair cut' and a 'cut and style'?
a hair cut is just like a trim but a cut and style is when they cut your hair and change the style
