Will they be able to fix my bad hair cut?

I had long thick curly hair, it was really pretty. I decided to get a hair cut which I normally do, but I notice when I got home my hair appeared to have the Christmas tree effect, she cut it like just straight across. It looks awful!! Is there anything that can fix this, I plan on making an appointment next week, but can they fix it, or does it have to grow out?Will they be able to fix my bad hair cut?
