What is an emo hair cut that is acceptable for a 13-16 year old?

I kind of want to cut my hair short and I like the emo style, but I feel I'm too young looking for that style (I look about 13). I want a short, emo style that is easy to take care of and that isn't too extreme. I don't want scene hair or something too short because, again, i would look weird. A lot of the girls around have hair in any colour really, REALLY layered. It looks quite emo if that is what you want! The shortest layers are on the top and are about 10cm long. It isn't that high maintenance. Just straighten, tease, and hairspray. The end :]

Emo hair is great because, although you can jazz it up, doing nothing with it can look effortlessly cool aswell.
grow it long and perdiful

and trim it every once in a long time so it doesnt look fat boy style
