He's 3 and a half and his hair goes past his shoulders, he's mistaken for a girl all the time and it's usually funny when he's called a ';sweet little princess'; but it's always in his face. I've told them several times that they need to get it cut but they say not to meddle, and that they're growing it out so that it wouldn't be in his face, which makes no sense at all. Should I just go with the flow or should I insist on them getting it cut?
thanks, in advance. How do I convince my parents to get my brother's hair cut?
Just tell ur parents that his feeling are getting hurt because they keep calling him a girl. Im sure he looks cute but he is going to go to preschool soon and the teasing is not going to get any easier. Just tell ur parents: mom, dad people are making fun of my lil brother doesn't that bother u that they call him a lil girl? don't u think its time for the lil guy to get a hair cut. Don't be selfish and think about his self esteem. How would u like it if u constantly had hair in ur face. Ur parents need to see that the lil guy is growing up and its time for a change. How do I convince my parents to get my brother's hair cut?
He's not your kid. He's your brother. Does he seem bothered by getting mistaken for a girl? Does he cry about it? If he's not bothered by it, leave it be. It's not your call. Maybe your parents like long hair on boys and men. And if you take matters into your own hands and cut it, be prepared for punishment. That's rude, immature, and passive-aggressive. I'd ground your @ss for undermining my authority if you did that.
That's really weird, and tell them up front. Who lets there three year old have hair as long as a girls? Maybe they were expecting a girl, and just worked with that. I don't know. They seem stubborn and un open to others thoughts, but try at least. It won't hurt. Be very stern, mature, and serious with them. Act like you mean business. Say it looks trashy, kids laugh at him, and people mistake him for a girl. Say, ';Are you really trying to make a mockery out of your son? It's not appropriate looking.'; Something like that, but in your own words. Good luck.
:) its their kid, they should do with him what ever they want esthetically.I would let it be, he probably looks cute, and if they were to cut it short but not short enough it might get in his eyes. I have that problem with my daughter, her hair is not long enough to put it up. And shes a girl so I wont cut it shorter.
Hes three, trust me pretty soon he will be the one asking for a hair cut. Once he realises boys wear short hair and that sort of thing.
keep on convincing them and tell them '; everyone laughs at him by thinking he's a girl (do it in a bad mood )
Or umm if still nothing happens,
Then the only thing u can do it leave it , or try to cut his hair urself!
