My dog just got a hair cut, how do I stop him from scratching?

My dog got a hair cut some days ago, but he won't stop scratching himself. He won't play or do anything else. He tries to rub himself against furniture, floor, and carpets. He looks a bit sad too. Mostly, he lays down and all of a sudden he stands up and runs to the nearest thing and lays down again. I already gave him a bath but that didn't solve the problem. Any suggestions??? Thanks. My dog just got a hair cut, how do I stop him from scratching?
He might have been cut or something.

Try rubbing his belly and telling him everything will be alright. My dog just got a hair cut, how do I stop him from scratching?
Talk to the groomer. Perhaps he is sensitive to the shampoo.

In such a case, I usually offer to re-bathe the dog in an oatmeal or hypoallergenic shampoo, at no cost, to see if that helps. It usually does the trick. If groomer doesn't offer this, ask them.

Another possibility, if his hair was very long, thick, and/or matted before, is that he feels funny without the hair, and with the air on his skin. Some dogs will rub themselves on the carpet etc, and irritate their skin making them even itchier. If there is a specific area that he's itching (like his bum) you might try a bit of OTC cortisone cream on the area. Or, again, an oatmeal bath may help soothe him.

EDIT: as with the ears, same thing. If he's used to having a lot of hair there, especially if it's matted, he feels funny with the lack of hair and the air getting in his ears. If there was a lot of hair that had to be plucked out of the ear canals, they might be irritated as well. If that doesn't stop you may need some drops from the vet.

Again, let the groomer know so that at the very least they can take steps to prevent this in future.

And if your dog's coat WAS in bad shape, don't let him get that bad again. It's very hard for a groomer to safely shave a dog when the coat is in bad shape without causing irritation.
Call groomers %26amp; see what they say. Your dog might have had a lot of hair plucked out of his ears %26amp; it is bothering him now or he could have picked up an infection from dirty hemostats. They should want to see him in person %26amp; might can judge what the problem is. If not tell them you are taking dog to the vet. He might be allergic to their shampoo or got razor or brush burned. It sounds like something is irritating his skin %26amp; if he was matted, removing the hair so close to the skin can be very irritating to them %26amp; they aren't used to the feeling of bare skin.
He may have been allergic to something at the groomer. If it doesnt stop you should probably take him to the vet to get him some allergy medicine. You can also try childrens benadryl. Just a verrrry small dosage is fine for dogs.
Well since your dog got a haircut, I would assume that he is a long haired dog. If your dog keeps shaking his ears, then he might have an ear infection. I would suggest taking him to the vet. He could have been allergic to something there, or maybe he got a cut, or maybe he just needs time to adjust to his haircut. You should probably go to the vet anyway, better safe than sorry! Good Luck!
He maybe having a bad reaction to the shampoo, razor/scissor burn, fleas, ticks or a skin infection. With his ears it could be ear mites, water from his bath, or an ear infection. You should make an appointment with your vet.
